Virtualisation Service for Object Reconstruction
Efficient 3D reconstruction is a key operation that can transform the content generation process of many applications, such as mixed reality (MR) applications, movies, game development, telepresence, 3D printing and 3D eCommerce. VISOR proposes a web service that will take images or a video stream of a small object and generate a digital twin as a triangular mesh that can be used by all current XR applications and game engines and be visualised on any device, enabling easy sharing of the 3D model across multiple stakeholders and environments.

Celebrating the results of our first Open Call
CORTEX2 provided us with the means to create a user-friendly 3D reconstruction web service for single objects. It provided us with accurate KPIs and milestones that resulted in a carefully planned roadmap for the web service. Regular meetings with the assigned mentor led to further improvements of the pipeline and helped us keep the project on track with the CORTEX2 goals. It also gave us the opportunity to disseminate our service during several events.
We would like to highlight the productive and supportive collaboration with the CORTEX2 team throughout the project. Their continuous support and guidance helped us develop an efficient 3D reconstruction service that converts small physical objects into shareable, high-quality 3D textured models.
