THE CORTEX2DELIVERABLES

This deliverable presents a detailed overview of CORTEX² Open Call 1 Programme, focusing on the 20 selected projects and presenting their work progress. The core part includes project portfolios, divided into 10 co-developers’ projects and 10 use cases, demonstrating their expected results, impact, and achievements to date.
The document outlines the management structure for the following activities: 1) Monitoring work of the funded projects; 2) Mentoring Third Parties in a form of key technical contact point bridge; 3) Evaluation of the results.

This deliverable is a continuation of the report 6.3 targeting the Open Call 1 (OC1) overview of the evaluation and selection process; and initiation of Open Call 2 (OC2) activities presenting (i) co-design process; (ii) external evaluators selection; (iii) overview on the received applications; and (iv) the next steps. The documentation of OC2 complements the report, developed to support management processes, from application to selection, covering a set of eligibility criteria, applicant requirements, CORTEX² offer, evaluation process, funding programme, and contracting.

OC1 winners (10 co-development projects and 10 use cases) were announced on the project website with a brief description of each funded project here.

OC2 was launched on June 13, 2024, and closed on August 15, 2024. In total, 91 applications were submitted (out of 149 started) for further evaluation by the external experts. This deliverable presents a comprehensive analysis of the ethical, legal, and technical frameworks that support the development and deployment of the CORTEX² platform, providing 34 targeted recommendations. While many of these recommendations are grounded in existing measures, they offer bespoke guidance tailored to the unique context of CORTEX² and similar technologies.

Documentation of the actions and outcomes achieved concerning the measures to maximise impact during the first period of the project, having D6.1 as the baseline. This report includes an assessment of the Stakeholder Collaboration Framework, promotional campaigns, measures to achieve the expected impact, and management of the project’s innovation, including the preliminary business model and standardisation activities.

This deliverable outlines the boundaries of a CORTEX² application and differentiates it from existing virtual applications such as those in the domains of gaming and entertainment. The specificity of CORTEX² applications is their focus on cooperation and collaboration. This leads to the use of functionalities adapted to these use cases, which we classify under the name of CORTEX² applications. To this aim, we have developed an abstract UML model, as well as concepts and knowledge about behaviours and intentions that are suited to the development and use of the CORTEX² application. After presenting the developed model of application, behaviours and intentions, we validate the model across the planned pilots and verify the applicability of the models. Finally, we emphasise the societal and ethical factors that are crucial for CORTEX² applications.

This document includes an analysis of the social and psychological factors to be taken into account during the development of CORTEX². From this analysis, a set of specifications has been derived, which should be understood as development requirements that may evolve throughout the platform’s development, based on the results of tests conducted after the completion of this document. It also includes the specifications for creating the advisory board of users, which will provide feedback at various stages of CORTEX² development.

This document outlines the ethical and legal considerations that must be taken into account by the Consortium partners during the CORTEX² conception phase.

This document provides a detailed overview of CORTEX²’s communication, dissemination, and exploitation strategy, a vital element of any successful Horizon Europe-funded project. It defines the goals, priorities, and potential implementation mechanisms to achieve all desired outcomes. Furthermore, the CORTEX² Impact Master Plan outlines the tools, materials, and channels to be utilised for effectively disseminating the project’s activities, achievements, and tangible results to targeted audiences, thereby becoming the cornerstone for the successful commercialisation and market uptake of the project solutions.

This deliverable synthesises the functional and non-functional requirements from the three project pilots of the project and qualifies the experience to be rendered to users during interactive situations.
